MC Sign Company Awards $20,000 Worth of Scholarships
Tears of joy.  Gasps of amazement.  Silence. These were just some of the reactions on August 20th as MC Sign Company awarded $20,000 worth of scholarships to eight recently graduated college bound seniors from Mentor High School and Lake Catholic High School.  Brad Steven announced during the scholarship reception that each scholarship was valued at $2,500.  This was the point when shock set in for each of the recipients and their parents.

The scholarships that MC Sign Company awarded are an example of our continued involvement in the community.  Last year we co-hosted the countywide United Way Corn Toss Tournament with Great Lakes Power, which also raised $20,000 and more in 2007.  MC Sign Company also extends our charitable efforts to a variety of other local charities that are near and dear to all of you throughout the year.  Aside from being an active member of the United Way of Lake County, we have held blood drives, participated in Adopt A Family, Harvest for Hunger, supported the Special Olympics and many other county efforts.

Drive for Knowledge Charity Golf Outing a Huge Success
Successful, is the best word to describe this year’s inaugural MC Sign Company Drive for Knowledge Charity Golf Outing.  On June 24th MC Sign Comapny hosted their first golf outing at StoneWater Golf Club in Highland Height, Ohio. With support from our vendors such as N. Glantz, GELuminations, and MC Henry we were able to come out of the outing with an amount for scholarships that we thought an unattainable number for our first year.  $20,000.

We also had support from a local athletic group.  Steve Weir, the Cleveland State University golf team head coach, helped with our outing by working our Beat the Pro contest.  The funds from this event also helped raise money for the scholarship fund.

In the past, MC Sign has extended charitable efforts to a variety of local charities that are near and dear to our employees by holding blood drives, participating in Adopt-A-Family and being an active member of the United Way. We are now incorporating the enjoyable and competitive game of golf into our charitable efforts by hosting an annual event that will not only be exciting, but for a great cause. Learn more
